  1. YSEG (Youth Strategy Executive Group)

  2. YOUTHBANK ASSESSORS
    Q. What does a youthbank assessor do?
    A. YouthBank assessors can turn young people’s good ideas into action by:
    Assessing funding applications from youth projects across Dumfries and Galloway, making a site visit and meeting the young people involved.
    YOU make the final decisions on funding these projects!

  3. PEER INSPECTIONS
    Q. What does this involve?
    A. Peer inspections provides you with the chance to check out and improve Services for young people!
    Why not become an inspector and check out youth clubs, libraries, sports centres and other services to help them become what you want them to be!

  4. ACTION RESEARCH
    Q. How does this work?
    A. By getting involved in Action Research you have the opportunity to do more than just talking, you can actually change things!
    So do you have any issues or concerns, and know that other young people feel the same?
    Then why not get involved in Action Research and get something done about it!!!!

rhonaThe above is just an example of some of the things you can get involved through the Youth Issues Unit. We also have links with the Scottish Youth Parliament (two of our current SYP members are from the Wigtownshire area), and meetings are held four times a year across Scotland. It’s a great opportunity to meet new people, express your views, and represent the concerns and issues of other young people in your area.
